Earcare
I provide ear wax removal, a this safe and effective treatment to help you maintain your ear hygiene
I use gentle techniques to ensure a comfortable experience, allowing you to enjoy clearer hearing and enhanced comfort.
The Tympa Health System to extract troublesome ear wax from the ear is called Micro suction. Micro-suction has largely replaced the irrigation method of shooting water into the ear canal. Best practice in this field is to avoid the threat of water going into the cranial cavity and potentially causing issues.
Microsuction is considered a gentler method. A small camera (microscope) is placed in the ear and a suction probe is used to gently suction the wax that is blocking the ear drum.
Ear wax is essential to protect the ears by trapping and preventing dust, bacteria, and other germs and small objects from entering and damaging the ear. The wax provides a waterproof coating to stop the delicate skin of the ear canal from being irritated when water enters the ear whilst showering and swimming
Otoscopy: £20.00
This is a thorough look in the ear canal with a small camera which is attached to a microscope to assess suitability for wax removal.
It is painless and enables me to see right the way to the back of the ear drum.
Some people produce a lot of ear wax, others very little. If your ears feel sticky or blocked and you notice that the T.V volume control has crept up then it is possible that you have an excess of wax that is affecting your hearing. Some people describe it as a popping feeling as the wax starts to cover the tympanic membrane (ear drum)
Otoscopy and Ear Wax Removal: £30.00 per ear
In addition to the above, and possibly after a period of wax softening using olive oil; ear wax is gently removed with the use of mircosuction. Wax that has been in the ear canal a long time tends to be harder to remove and may require a second appointment. (no extra charge is made for this)

Home Visits
I offer home visits for clients that are unable to get into the foot clinic but the number of appointments are limited so booking in advance is advisable.
I currently undertake home visits for clients the East Preston and Rustington area as well as Goring, West and East Worthing, Durrington, Findon and Ferring.
Earcare FAQ’s
How come I have more ear wax that other people?
This can be a hereditary thing but generally, people who use hearing aids, in-ear headphones or who are exposed to excessive dust or pollen tend to have more excessive amounts of cerumen (ear wax).
How do I know if I have ear wax?
I can look in your ear using a powerful microscope and see if any ear wax you have is likely to be causing you a problem. This is known as an Otoscopy.
Is Ear Microsuction painful?
Microsuction isn’t painful but it is necessary to soften the wax prior to the procedure with an olive oil spray. Earol is considered the most effective product to use and can be purchased from me or the chemist.
Three sprays in the morning and three before bed time for 4 days prior to your appointment will soften the wax and ensure that the extraction is as comfortable as possible.
How long does it take?
Otoscopy – to check the condition of your ears and see if there is excessive wax is a quick procedure and could be done after foot care or as a 15-minute appointment.
Ear wax removal is also a quick procedure providing the wax is sufficiently softened.

Testimonials
What my clients say…
I am so happy to have found Lorna. She is the fourth person I have used for my foot care and the best by far. My feet always feel so lovely when she has finished.
Sylvia, Ferring
We belong to the ‘Rustington posse’. Lorna comes every 7 weeks to our homes (we all live near each other) and performs her magic. We aren’t as mobile as we once were, so having Lorna visit is a godsend. Leaves us walking on air.
Bev, Rustington
Lorna visits my dad at home and has done so now for over a year now and nothing is ever too much trouble. She is so very professional. The treatment she offers is great for dad and Lorna is a fantastic person to deal with, always going the extra mile.
Damion, Worthing
Feel like a new woman. Who knew! Just great – thanks Lorna.
Jo, Findon Valley
Lorna has helped me so much with the various problems I have had with my feet. Could not recommend highly enough. Great value too.
Tracey, Offington, Worthing
Since having both my hips replaced, I have been unable to reach my toenails. Lorna visits to my home have been invaluable and we set up a regular schedule of treatment to help look after my feet.
Jonathan, Lancing
Lorna is a welcome visitor to Brockenhurst, she is never phased by some of our longer standing residents, always showing kindness and patience – engaging them in conversation and making the experience socially enjoyable.
Norma, Brockenhurst, Littlehampton
Being able to park directly outside the clinic makes it easy for me to visit. Always an enjoyable experience I feel like a new man. As an elderly gentleman who is now corn free, a walk is far more comfortable and a real pleasure.
Barry, Sompting
I was delighted to be able to buy a specific cream from Lorna which helped massively with my dry skin condition. It was easy to purchase and even when I included the cost of my treatment; it was real value for money. I also look forward to seeing Lorna as we cover a wide range of random topics and spend a lot of time laughing!
Sylvia, East Preston
I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Whilst all new to me, my doctor explained the importance of avoiding cuts and open wounds on my feet so recommended a foot care specialist to keep on top on my split heels. After just one visit with Lorna there’s been a huge improvement and my diabetic nurse was very impressed.
Ross, Angmering
Lorna did a luxury pedicure for me and it was excellent. Very friendly and easy to talk to, she did a very professional job. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Rebecca, Broadwater
My daughter was very anxious about seeing someone to treat her verrucas but Lorna took the trouble to find a subject she enjoyed and distracted her from the task in hand. Coupled with Lornas reassurance and gentle approach, she has made this into a far more enjoyable experience for her.
